Have you ever wondered if your life mattered? I have. Why would anyone want to read the story of my life? I’m not perfect. How can the story of my life make any difference in someone else’s life? I can’t answer that question for you as an individual because I don’t know what you have gone through. I don’t know the words to say that would open up your heart. I know this: God told me to write my story through His still, small voice, and who am I to question Him? Like anyone else, my story comprises an accumulation of day-to-day experiences. God Always Was in Control is the third in a series of books that contains a collection of some of those experiences in my life and the lives of my husband and children, giving a more detailed version of my life’s journey. It begins with a short introduction to my parents, parts of my childhood, and experiences in my married life, including the births of our children and other memorable events. My husband’s story is also contained in the chapters about his parents, his history, and his conversion to Christ’s church. Looking back, I can see that God was trying to gain access to my heart all along. He planted a desire deep within me at a young age to have a Christ-centered home. This desire was not fulfilled during the young, informative years of my youth when I was under the tutelage of my parents. But God gave me another chance by giving me a family of my own. Ignorance, inexperience, and a wounded heart interfered with the process. And it is a process that is continuing to this day. I serve a God who is trustworthy, faithful, and long-suffering. I put my faith in Him. He deals with us on an individual personal level as much as we will allow and completes what He begins. Will my story touch your heart? Will something in my life resonate with you? Will the experiences I have had help guide you on life’s journey? I guess you won’t know until you read it.

God Is in Control is the first published book that God commanded me to write. He told me, “Write Your Story.”  This book begins with my experiences with God after returning to His presence. Since worship is part of my story, I share various experiences I have had worshiping. I also included stories people have had following the Holy Spirit’s leadings. Life is a journey, and I share just a portion of my spiritual walk with the Lord, one testimony at a time.

As the title implies, God Continues to be In Control is a continuation of book 1, God Is In Control. It contains more of my interactions with the Holy Spirit and details what worship is. I also included some excerpts from books that have influenced me and strengthened my walk with the Lord. The book ends with a revelation that was directed to Latter-Day Saints.

“I tripped and fell on the steps. The bottles broke and I fell on a pointed shard of glass that cut my jugular vein. As the blood poured out, my mother put pressure on my neck to stop the bleeding. In her excitement, she unintentionally closed off my airway, and I couldn’t breathe.”

“One night, I woke in the night with intense pain in my mouth and gums like nothing I had ever experienced before. I didn’t want to awaken the elders at that hour, so I fell down on my knees and prayed a very short but intense prayer—asking the Lord to relieve my pain.”

These are only two excerpts from testimonies in the book Their Tongue Was the Pen That Wrote God’s Love on My Heart. Read the book to learn more about how God responded in both situations. Over fifty testimonies tell how God has interacted in various people’s lives today. He is the same today as yesterday and always will be.

Vision of the Cross

All We Need to Do is Look Up

by Rhonda Stahlman

This booklet is a sermon Mike preached on February 19, 1995.
He took the time to discover what God would have him speak and this is the message God gave.
We are to keep our eyes on the cross and remember that God's Son died on the cross, taking the punishment for our sins so that we can come back into God's presence.

This booklet was based on a skit inspired by God and performed by Mike and Rhonda before a live audience. Its message is clear: Don't judge a situation until you have all the facts.

The Wages of Sin is Death

by Rhonda Stahlman

This book gives scriptural proof that we are paid for what we do. If we sin, or in other words, go against what we know to be right, then our wages are death. If we repent and accept that God's Son died for us so we don't have to endure punishment, we have eternal life with God.
